Newman’s No. 6 Oscar Mayer Hot Dog Ford Mustang will be painted to pay tribute to the late Sgt. James Nolen as part of NASCAR’s 600 Miles of Remembrance initiative, which honors fallen service members with patriotic car wraps and coordinates visits to military bases leading up to the race.

“It was an honor to meet the family of Sgt. Nolen at Fort Bragg, N.C., in April when we unveiled the paint scheme dedicated to him,” said Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 6 Ford Mustang. “It’s a special feeling to represent Sgt. Nolen with his name on the No. 6 Oscar Mayer Hot Dog Ford Mustang, and I’m proud to share this moment with his family as they join us for race weekend in Charlotte.”

Newman teams up with Oscar Mayer for the third time this season, after debuting Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh and Bacon wraps in Daytona and Phoenix. Newman has three top-10 finishes on the season and sits 17th in the points standings.

“We at Oscar Mayer are honored to be a part of the Coca-Cola Racing Family’s commitment to honoring U.S. military members,” said Matt Riezman, Associate Director of Marketing, Oscar Mayer. “Proudly displaying Sgt. James Nolen’s name on the No. 6 Oscar Mayer Hot Dog Ford Mustang is a meaningful way to celebrate Sgt. Nolen and Memorial Day Weekend.”
